Mazda are showcasing their new Takeri concept car and the CX-5 compact crossover at Geneva next month, along with their pioneering SKYACTIV technology.
This will allow a European audience to get up close to the results of their new direction for the first time.
The Mazda Takeri
The Takeri is Mazda’s next-generation saloon concept.
Using Mazda’s new ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design language, the Takeri shows off strong, sleek lines, offering a glimpse of what a new Mazda production saloon might look like.
The Mazda Takeri builds on the direction unveiled last year in the Mazda Shinari, the company’s bold sports coupe concept.
Its pioneering technology is a sample of what will be packed into Mazda’s available to purchase, lease or finance in the future.
Under the bonnet lives an ultra-efficient SKYACTIV-D diesel engine, which features an ‘i-stop’ system that reduces fuel consumption, along with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Mazda Takeri is the first car to come with their new i-LOOP system.
An abbreviation of ‘Intelligent Energy Loop’, i-LOOP is a unique energy regeneration system that recovers energy from the braking process.
The energy gained from this is converted into electricity and used to power components like the air-conditioning and audio system, increasing fuel efficiency by up to ten percent.
For the driver, this means increased efficiency without sacrificing an enjoyable and engaging driving experience.
The Mazda CX-5
The all-new Mazda CX-5 is a landmark vehicle, the very first production model to be designed using the ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ language and to feature the full complement of SKYACTIV technologies.
Not only featuring a SKYACTIV engine and transmission, the Mazda CX-5 also has a SKYACTIV body and chassis.
Those who choose to purchase, lease or finance the Mazda CX-5 benefit from the compact crossover’s SUV style performance without the SUV fuel consumption.
It tops its class when it comes to frugality and low CO2 emissions.
This is made possible by its exceptionally lightweight and aerodynamic design.
Combined with its responsive handling and superb safety levels, it makes it an ideal choice for families looking to purchase, lease or finance a robust car.
