The Chevrolet Aveo has been awarded the 2011 ‘Best in Class’ safety award by NCAP.
Topping the highly competitive supermini category, the Chevrolet Aveo achieved 85% in NCAP’s rigorous, independent testing.
Naturally the Chevrolet Aveo boasts a top five-star NCAP safety rating.

The award will make the Chevrolet Aveo even more appealing to finance, lease or purchase, especially for those looking for a super safe family car.
In terms of adult occupant protection, the Chevrolet Aveo scored a very impressive 95% for adult occupancy safety.
NCAP praised Chevrolet for offering good protection to adults of differing sizes and weights, and for achieving maximum points in the side barrier test.
Even in the tough pole test, the robust supermini performed well.
Scoring a formidable 87% in child occupancy safety, the Chevrolet Aveo was awarded the maximum in dynamic protection tests of a 3 year old child.
Chevrolet also gained points for the clarity of their information regarding disabling passenger airbags before fitting a rear facing infant seat.
When looking to purchase, lease or finance a new Chevrolet, it’s worth remembering that the Aveo is packed with standard safety features.
These helped it achieve a 93% rating for safety assist features, including electronic stability control and seatbelt reminders on all seats.
NCAP also picked out the Chevrolet Aveo’s speed limiter cruise control function as particularly impressive.
Other as standard safety features include six airbags, child-seat latches, traction control, an anti-lock braking system with brake assist, hill-start assist and electronic brake force distribution.
Chevrolet say they are delighted that their commitment to ensuring safety and peace of mind for their customers has been acknowledged.
And the NCAP ratings for the Chevrolet range bear this out: four other Chevrolet’s have been awarded the prestigious NCAP five star rating.
These are the Cruze, Captiva and Orlando models, as well as the Chevrolet’s electric car, the Volt.
