Citroen is kicking off 2012 in style by announcing the release of its striking new special edition, the C3 Picasso Code (pictures to follow shortly)
Citroen have based their newest addition to the Picasso range on their best-selling Picasso HDi 90 manual VTR+, with a substantial equipment upgrade.
It replaces Citroen’s previous special edition Picasso, the Blackcherry, and joins its new stablemates in the C3 range, the Citroen C3 Black and C3 White.
Impressive ‘Look Pack’
Citroen are keen that the Code’s special edition status is underlined through its appearance, and so the upgraded car benefits from a ‘Look Pack’ drawing on Citroen’s impressive design capabilities.
On the exterior this translates into a profusion of chrome and contrasting shiny black.
The new Citroen C3 Picasso Code boasts chrome lower bumper inserts, shiny black door handles, again with chrome inserts and shiny black surrounds to the vents.
Both front and rear bumpers and the door mirror surrounds are painted in Obsidian Black.
The Citroen Code now sports roof bars, giving it a slightly sportier look.
Distinctive paint options
Citroen’s choice of contrasting body colour and attractive 17 inch clover-style alloy wheels really makes the C3 Picasso Code stand out.
You can choose from four main body colours: Polar White, Cherry Red, Belle Ile Blue and Thorium Grey. These are then set off by detailing in either Polar White or Cherry Red.
Drivers who go for the Belle Ile Blue or Cherry Red get stylish Polar White alloys and matching side rubbing strips. Their number plate has a Polar White surround and is made more distinctive with chrome detailing.
Those who opt for the Polar White or Thorium Grey have the striking Cherry Red alloys, which are naturally paired with Cherry Red side rubbing strips and number plate surround, embellished with a chrome insert.
Generous interior specifications
Drivers will be glad to hear that Citroen have extended the same generous touch to what travels inside the Picasso’s Code characteristic design.
As standard new owners of the new Citroen get air conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, cruise control and curtain airbags.
Plus free VED for a year
Citroen engineers have reduced CO2 emissions to just 119g/km, which qualifies the Picasso Code for the zero VED rate for its first year.
Powered by an HDi diesel engine, the Citroen C3 Picasso Code does a very frugal 61.4mpg too.
Special edition available for purchase now
The Citroen C3 Picasso Code is priced from only £15,695.
This means that drivers are paying merely £300 more for the significant upgrade that the Picasso Code offers on the VTR+.
