Ford Launch EcoBoost Engine For Focus Range Which Are Available To Finance

The new Ford Focus range

Ford will launch its 1.0 litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine in its new Ford Focus range, which goes on sale in the UK in February and which will be available to finance.

Using the latest technological advances, Ford have created an ultra-efficient petrol engine with performances that can compete with a 1.6 litre engine.

As a result, drivers of the new Ford Focus can expect markedly reduced fuel consumption and money-saving reductions in CO2 emissions.

Downsized and super-frugal

The new Ford engine fits onto a piece of A4 paper, yet gives the type of performance associated with larger, more expensive powertrains.

The creation of 200 top UK Ford engineers, the EcoBoost fulfills its brief of combining refined, spirited driving with economy.

In fact, it has the highest power density of any Ford production engine ever made, with up to 125PS and 170Nm of torque delivering an impressive 1,400 to 4,500 revs per minute.

In the new Ford Focus range, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine will be available with two different power levels, 125 PS and 100PS.

Ford boasts that the 125PS engine gives the five-door Focus an combination of power and low fuel consumption not seen in any of its rivals.

The more powerful Ford Focus engine does 56.5 mpg and has low-ranking CO2 emissions of just 114g/km.

The smaller 100PS EcoBoost sees the Ford Focus take pole position for CO2 emissions in its class, with an ultra-low figure of 109g/km.

It also does an exceptionally frugal 58.9 mpg.

Ford engineering smarts translate into real-world savings

Ford have calculated that their sophisticated EcoBoost engines give their UK drivers a range of savings.

Both 125PS and 100PS engines are zero-rated for VED in their first year, which then increases to very reasonable £30 and £20 respectively.

Compared to the current 1.6 litre Ford Focus engine, that saves you £115 in the first year, and up to £95 a year after that.

The new EcoBoost will be particularly appealing to company car drivers, who will find that the benefit-in-kind tax rate is only 13% for 2012/13.

The new Ford Focus range will be available for purchase, lease or finance (subject to status) in the UK on 22nd February.

Prices start from £13,995 OTR, with the EcoBoost engine available as a £250 upgrade.
