The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is finishing 2011 on a triumphant note, taking Total 4×4 magazine’s 4×4 of the Year award. It is also the magazine’s Off-Roader Of The Year.
This means that the Jeep Grand Cherokee now lays claim to over 30 international prizes, from a wide variety of leading opinion forming organisations.
A worthy winner
Jeep were determined to create a striking SUV that combined refinement and practicality, and it seems that Total 4×4 magazine believe they have succeeded.
The judges praised the Jeep’s value in comparison to its rivals.
Editor Alan Kidd says that there is very little at the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s price point that manages to combine comfort, equipment, performance and technology so well.
He goes on to mention that, although each of the four Grand Cherokees have shown a steady improvement, this time the difference is simply ‘off the scale’.
Jeep’s reaction was to focus on the future, describing plans to continue the Grand Cherokee’s stellar performance in 2012.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has gathered an impressive collection of awards in the US, including Consumer’s Digest Best Buy and five 5 star official safety rating.
2011 has seen the launch of the two new premium Jeep Grand Cherokees, the high-performance STR8 and the luxury Overland Summit.
The Grand Cherokee STR8 made its European debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the summer, turning heads with its striking looks.
Reviewers have celebrated its ability to drive like both an SUV and a sports car, delivering exceptional speed and performance and a satisfyingly throaty throttle.
The brand also celebrated its 70th anniversary by sponsoring the famous Goodwood Revival.
Thousands of fans were able to enjoy the range of modern and classic Jeeps, as well as rockabilly style music and dance performances.
