Kia Reveals New KH Saloon Concept

The new flagship Kia KH saloon

Kia have released sketches for their new flagship sedan concept, the KH.

It’s Kia’s first ever rear-wheel drive sedan, and from these first sketches it is clearly something special.

A marriage of design flair and technology

The Kia KH is created from sweeping, powerful lines.

The Kia KH’s distinctive nose, with a wide grille and angled headlights conveys a strong sense of dynamic energy.

Kia’s designers took inspiration from classic cars when deciding on the bonnet’s proportions, lending it an elegant feel.

At the rear, the sharply raked windscreen hints at the type of performance seen in sports cars.

This all combines to fulfill Kia’s design concept of ‘distinctive, modern and classic’ and is likely to appeal to those who want to purchase, lease or finance a car that oozes understated power.

First set for launch in Korea

KH is a codename that Kia gave their innovative new saloon, so it seems likely that the car will be renamed before its Korean launch later in the year.

It’s already being eagerly anticipated in Kia’s home market, raising questions of whether Kia will launch the car elsewhere.

At the moment it seems likely that anyone wishing to purchase, lease or finance the Kia KH in the UK or mainland Europe is going to be disappointed though.

Kia are on record saying that it will not be coming to European markets, with its release for lease, finance or purchase in other territories to be confirmed.

However, even if UK customers won’t be able to get their hands on the Kia KH as it is, it clearly signals a new direction for Kia that will no doubt benefit its customers worldwide.

Kia’s director of overseas marketing, Soon-Nam Lee, says that the flagship saloon is an integrated symbol of the type of model Kia are looking to produce, combining design, performance, technology and infotainment within it’s striking appearance.

Going on to mention how the rear-wheel drive sedan will become Kia’s global showcase car raises the possibility though that an evolved version of the KH model might eventually be released for purchase, finance or lease in the UK.
