Limited Edition Audi A1 Quattro

Audi are creating a stir with the launch of their new super-limited edition Audi A1 Quattro, a classic of the future.

Their new high specification subcompact, with exceptional agility and performance is as rare as it is desirable.

Audi are only releasing 333 models worldwide, giving the new A1 Quattro an ultra-exclusive cachet.

Stunning performance

Audi claim that the A1 Quattro is the most powerful, fastest accelerating subcompact car ever created.

It’s certainly the first to start production with both Quattro all-wheel drive and an impressive 256PS petrol engine.

The core of the new Audi is this powerhouse of an engine.

Its 2.0 litre, four cylinder design allows for punchy, competitive driving, going from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds and hitting a top-speed of 152 mph.

Engineered for speed

Every aspect of the Audi A1′s powertrain has been optimised for peak performance.

An adjustable intake cam shaft with two balancer shafts makes sure the Audi is as smooth as it is powerful.

The Audi’s six-speed manual transmission has ultra-quick shifting and features a multi-plate clutch.

Torque is transferred seamlessly from front to rear wheels when needed, and the electronic differential lock (EDL) prevents skidding.

Designed for racing as well as on-road driving, Audi A1 Quattro drivers can choose whether to have the electric stability programme on normal, sports mode or turn it off entirely on the track.

Dynamic design

The Audi is engineered for speed and power, so as you would expect, the chassis is low-slung, with the clutch positioned by the rear axle to give the best possible weight distribution.

Exclusive body

Audi wants the A1′s Quattro appearance to signal its unique nature. Its racey, forceful character radiates from its design.

The combination of metallic Glacier White paint, a high-gloss black roof and very eye-catching 18 inch turbine-style alloys, finished in white, make it immediately distinctive.

Audi’s decision to create red painted ‘wings’ within the headlights adds a touch of flair, setting it apart from other cars in the Audi range.

Many of the Audi A1 Quattro’s bodywork is exclusively designed for it, including the front and rear bumpers and grille.

Purposeful interior

Inside, black rules supreme. Seats and armrests are upholstered in sleek black Silk Nappa leather, with contrasting stitching picked out in red.

The Audi’s focus on speed is highlighted by its red speedometer, while the control panel features aluminium-look trim.

The Audi A1 Quattro isn’t due to be released in mainland Europe until the second half of 2012, and at the moment Audi UK are gauging customer interest before importing any of the rare cars.

One Response to Limited Edition Audi A1 Quattro

  1. Roger says:

A1 Quattro look stunning special props to the red handlebar wing lights but it’s also got some serious ponies under its hood. There’s no word on changes to the interior but expect high quality materials like carbon fibre, Alcantara and aluminium to feature.
