The Mazda Motor Corporation has launched the Mazda TAKERI concept car globally, in front of a Japanese audience.
The Mazda MAKERI is a mid-sized saloon, which utilised Mazda’s new design language, KODO – Soul of Motion. The saloon incorporates SKYACTIV Technology, including Mazda’s first regenerative braking system.
Mazda has also introduced its new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV, which is also equipped with SKYACTIV Technology. The new Mazda CX-5 is the first vehicle to feature KODO and SKYACTIV Technology engines, transmission, bodyshell and chassis.
This new technology converts kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration to effectively power the vehicle’s electrical equipment. This therefore reduces the load on the engine and saves fuel, which has great environmental benefits. The model’s new diesel engine, lightweight structure, aerodynamic and chassis technologies enables the Mazda TAKERI superior performance.
The new five door CX-5 delivers responsive handling and great stability, in addition to outstanding environmental and safety performance.
The Mazda CX-5 is due to go on sale during 2012.
