The ground is set for the UK launch of the new Subaru XV Crossover range all of which will be available to finance, lease or purchase.
The new all-wheel drive XV Crossover is priced extremely competitively, showing Subaru’s determination to out-do its more established rivals.
Every Subaru XV comes with two of the brand’s core technologies, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a powerful Boxer engine, making it both exceptionally safe and rewarding to drive.
Best in class safety rating
Subaru has stolen a lead among Crossover SUVs, being the highest rated car in its class, according to the rigorous Euro NCAP tests.
Not only does the Subaru XV score the top five star NCAP rating, it is marked especially highly for child occupant safety.
The Subaru commitment to safety is evident too in the XV’s kit list, which contains advanced safety technologies as standard.
The not-so-standard kit list
Again, Subaru put their rivals to shame with what they include in the entry level XV S model.
Stand-out standard safety features include ABS, traction control, Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (SVDC) and front, side, curtain and knee airbags.
Style and comfort isn’t neglected either, with automatic air conditioning, 17 inch alloy wheels and daytime LED running lights also included at no extra cost.
Those who decide to purchase, lease or finance (subject to status) the Subaru XV SE gain cruise control, a rear-view parking camera and Bluetooth and USB/iPod connectivity.
An upgrade to the Subaru XV SE Lux Premium brings with it integral sat-nav, leather upholstery, a sunroof, Keyless Smart Entry and push-button start.
Plus every 2.0 litre Subaru XV has roof rails fitted as standard.
SUV Performance
Subaru have engineered the XV to have the lowest centre of gravity matched with highest ground clearance for its class, enabling strong performance and agile handling off-road as well as on.
The intrepid Subaru XV is powered by a choice of Euro 5 compliant Boxer engines: the 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines and a 2.0 litre diesel.
Subaru expects the 2.0 litre diesel to become the UK bestseller for the range, thanks to its mixture of performance and economy.
The diesel engine goes from 0 to 60mph is 9.3 seconds, while still delivering leading fuel efficiency by doing 50.4mpg on its combined cycle.
Both petrol engines sport the fuel-saving Subaru Auto Start Stop System, which boasts one of the fastest stop-start lapses of only 0.2 seconds, making it virtually undetectable.
The Subaru XV range is surprisingly affordable.
The entry-level Subaru XV 1.6i S model is available for purchase, finance or lease in the UK from £21,295, while the top of the range Subaru XV 2.0D SE Lux Premium costs £29,795.
