The new Renault Twingo
Renault has finally revealed the new UK pricing and specification for its new Twingo, the baby of the Renault range.
According to Renault the changes are designed to heighten the Twingo’s sensuous styling and seductive appeal, as well as incorporating the new Renault front end being introduced throughout the French marque’s line-up.
New, Fresh Design
The Renault Twingo’s exterior has been remodeled to give a cheekier, more characterful air.
One stand-out element are the fog lights and round side-lights, now placed next to the grille, giving the whole car a playful and appealing look.
Renault have re-sculpted the Twingo’s rear-end so making it both softer and more dynamic, thanks to the dramatic new rear lights and the rounded rear bumper and curvier tailgate.
Owners of the updated Renault Twingo can choose from two brand new colours, Fuchsia and Bermuda Blue, in addition to seven standard paint colours, designed to enhance the cheerful, light-hearted character that makes city cars so popular.
In April, Renault are planning on launching a Twingo with an electric fabric sunroof, perfect for spring and summer weather.
Renault’s emphasis on swish bubbly fun is created in the exterior through ‘Luxe Carbon’ seats upholstered in new patterns, complemented by stylish red stitching.
Exciting new choices
The new Renault Twingo boasts a remarkably customisable design. There is a choice of eight different wheel options, and five roof decals.
You can choose to have the door mirrors and tips of the protective side mouldings picked out in a contrasting colour to the body, giving your Renault Twingo a look that perfectly reflects your personality and style.
Of course these choices extend to equipment too.
On top of what Renault boast of as a high level of standard equipment, you can increase comfort and performance with climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and exterior customisations like a Renaultsport rear spoiler.
Renault have also improved the Twingo’s audio system, adding Bluetooth functionality, USB connectivity and a docking station for the latest iPhones and iPods.
You can upgrade to the iPod-compatible radio for only £235, which includes a GPS navigation app that also helps you adapt your driving to improve fuel consumption in real-time.
All this and impressive performance
Despite being billed as a city car, the Renault Twingo is able to maintain a strong performance on the motorway and on country roads. Its nimble handing is ensured by its Clio-derived base while its low-emission 1.2 litre engine means that the Renault is free of road tax for its first year.
Plus the spacious interior, with 50/50 rear-split seats, gives ample room for fitting in either the weekly shop or luggage.
The new Renault Twingo is available to purchase now in the UK, from £10,350 on the road. Finance or lease options are also available.
