SEAT are delighted that their distinctive hot hatch, the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra, has one of the most impressive residual values in the motor industry and can be purchased, leased or financed.
Since its UK launch in 2009, the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra has gained a tribe of loyal followers.
They are drawn in by its eye-catching style and capacity for speedy, responsive driving, as well as the SEAT’s 180PS engine and DSG gearbox.
The Bocanegra name is obviously a lucky one for SEAT, as designers drew inspiration for the current Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra from the intensely popular 1970s Bocanegra 1200 Sport.
Outstanding CAP rating
In their latest round of residual valuation rating, CAP have rated the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra higher than competitor cars from brands like Mercedes or BMW.
While a brand new SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra costs around £18,655 OTR, a year old car with 10,000 miles on the clock will still be able to command 77% of its initial value.
This beats the BMW Z4 2.3i sDrive (71%) or the Mercedes C250 CGI automatic (67%) hands down.
According to the SEAT dealership network, demand for the used Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra is so high that they tend to have no more than a dozen in stock across the UK at a time.
Staying true to its concept
The success of the Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra can be credited to SEAT’s brave decision to keep the production version as close to the concept car as possible, which hogged headlines at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
Its most arresting design features are the striking black finishing on its nose.
These include blackened double headlights, a honeycomb mesh grille and a black surround with an innovate air vent system at the base.
This is also the inspiration behind the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra’s unusual name, as ‘boca negra’ means ‘black mouth’ in Spanish.
Inside, the SEAT Ibiza Cupra Bocanegra boasts an entirely bespoke interior, complete with a specially designed rhomboid upholstery fabric.
