Here is your daily news from OSV Ltd.
We start today’s news with yet another car to add the next weeks Paris Motor Show roster. Lexus have introduced a new concept car on the web today with it debuting officially at Paris. The LF-CC will feature engineering ideas that will applied to many Lexus models, and sooner than some might anticipate.
A new hybrid powertrain, which combines a four-cylinder 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, makes its debut in the LF-CC. A version of this system is expected to become available in the GS executive saloon in summer 2013.
As well as sharing styling cues with the GS, the LF-CC also shows the influence of Lexus’ LF-LC concept car, which was unveiled at the 2012 Detroit motor show.
The LF-CC’s LED headlamps and small door handles and mirrors are likely to be limited to the concept car stage, but the deep ‘spindle’ front grille and overall shape aren’t expected to change significantly for any production version.
This has got my boss very excited, although he is hoping his wife (a Lexus fan) doesn’t see this! What does everyone think about the new Lexus and new ideas?

Boldness, creativity and design excellence will be displayed in abundance on the Citroën stand at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Citroën’s showcase will focus on the Brand’s vitality and determination to forge ahead, continuing its move up-market and accelerating international growth while developing technologies and innovations for environmentally considerate mobility.
Citroën is continuing its move up-market. Notably through the ever more dynamic and appealing DS line, which has now sold over 250,000 units worldwide. The distinctive DS line is growing with the arrival of the Citroën DS3 Cabrio, a soft-top model combining all the strengths of the DS3’s – styling, driving thrills and refinement – with the pleasure of top-down motoring. In other DS line news, DS3 has gained even more personalisation possibilities, DS4 and DS5 are shown as limited edition Pure Pearl models, with even more sophisticated style, and the DS4 adds an HDi 160 version with an automatic gearbox. Citroën is also moving up-market with the C range, as evidenced with the newly revised C3 Picasso, which is making its debut in Paris. The C3 Picasso has sold over 320,000 units and continues to stand out with its audacious styling and innovative architecture.
The Brand is speeding up its international development with the launch of two distinctive saloons, the Citroën C4 L and C-Elysée. The new models, which are targeted at emerging international markets, will be on show during the press days. Designed in France with the expertise of Citroën’s international teams, both models feature the Brand’s know-how in terms of styling, technology and quality. Citroën is also underscoring its status as an international brand with the launch of the DS line in China, Latin America and Russia.
Making its debut at Paris, the newly updated Citroën C3 Picasso is more distinctive than ever with its bold styling and innovative architecture. New styling features include a revised front bumper and the latest Citroën chevrons, along with the addition of LED daytime running lights for a fresh new look.
There are two new body colours – Pearlescent white and Ink blue – and new upholstery choices including a new cloth trim and optional Mistral Claudia leather. The new C3 Picasso can be specified with Citroën’s eMyWay satellite navigation system including an audio jack plug, USB sockets and a Bluetooth® hands-free kit. The system can even be connected to a reversing camera for easier manoeuvres. Other new features include fog lamps with static cornering lights, an electrochrome interior rearview mirror and a roof console at the front of the cabin with LED ambient lighting.
The new C3 Picasso will go ‘on sale’ in the UK early in 2013. Specification and pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
Now a world record breaking motor event!
Last weekend at Ferrari Racing Days Silverstone, 964 Ferraris (a number more fitting for a Porsche parade) took to the home of British F1 circuit to beat the world record for ‘the biggest parade of Ferraris ever organised’. The previous record, set in Japan in 2008, stood at 490 cars. It’s safe to say that this time they smashed it.
Felipe Massa lead the procession in a black 458 Spider and said, “It’s a great honour for me to be here for such a special event, with so many cars all brought together on one racetrack, which produced an unprecedented spectacle for all Prancing Horse fans.”
