The Milanese coachbuilder Zagato has teamed up with BMW to realize a unique collaboration: the BMW Zagato Coupe.
Zagato has worked brilliantly to build an amazing and emotionally engineered coupe, marking the finest automotive workmanship in the auto-industry and is a symbol of the unbridled enthrallment of cars.
Taking pride of place at the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance on the banks of Lake Como in Italy, this handcrafted BMW Coupe is Zagato’s take on a modern Bavarian sports car.
The blend of the two esteemed car manufacturers breathes freshness and distinction in the UK’s car industry with features of this special concept to include: glassy split rear deck and wider grilles, a double-bubble roof, matt-finish exhaust tips and five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels.
The sleek, low-slung design of the BMW Zagato Coupe is a one-off model that stands out from the rest and is a fusion of many hours of exquisite hand-craftsmanship. The aluminium body, finished in a unique Rosso Vivace paint colour, has also been built entirely by hand.
While not a production car, the Zagato Coupe is far from a design study, with the intention from the outset being to design a road-going, aerodynamically optimised vehicle capable of achieving high speeds while still meeting legal regulations and safety standards.
It is hard to think of a better occasion for the premiere than the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, one of the most exclusive events in the world of hand-picked classic cars and motorcycles.
