Citroen DS3 Review

The Lowdown.

Citroen has certainly staked a solid claim in the top-end supermini market with the impressive DS3. In respect of three key areas, Citroen appears to have hit all the right buttons. First off there’s the design; the car successfully captures the essence of ‘classic Citroen’ – but at the same time features the sleek lines you’d expect from an ultra-modern supermini. When it comes to performance, you’re unlikely to have many complaints in terms of power, comfort and manoeuvrability. Last but not least, the manufacturers seem to have made it their mission to offer a wide range of options to maximise the scope for personalisation. Anyone looking for car leasing deals on this particular model shouldn’t be disappointed with what’s on offer.

The Look and Feel.

The best superminis out there all tend to successfully blend the traditional with the modern. For a car in this class to work, it ought to have character – and Citroen appears to have come up with the goods on that score with the DS3. There’s an element of drama – thanks to a striking ‘reversed’ B pillar that points from rear to front. The front grille is unmistakably Citroen – whereas rows of inset LED strip lights are embedded into the front bumper for a quirky, ultra-modern touch. If seating space is a priority when you’re looking for car lease deals, you’re likely to be pleasantly surprised by the DS3. Three adults can fit in the rear with a fair share of legroom – thanks in no small part to the sleek and slender design of the driver and front passenger seats. A 285-litre boot space holds up very well against other models in the supermini category. Inside and out, two-tone styling is the order of the day and three clean and simple circles dominate the dash. Fans of the classic sporty look when it comes to their car leasing deals are certainly going to be drawn to the DS3.

Performance

If you’re looking for a car lease arrangement on a supermini, the chances are that performance is one of your main priorities. The Citroen DS3 shouldn’t disappoint. Road handling is a particular strongpoint and this is perhaps best demonstrated by the fact that the car boasts a pretty impressive 10.3m turning circle. It gives you a comfortable ride too. Fuel efficiency is a priority with Citroen as well – with the HDi models offering particularly attractive green credentials.

Options

If there’s one thing you can rely on when it comes to superminis, it’s the fact that the manufacturer will be offering you a long list of optional extras. The Citroen DS3 is no exception. There are three trim levels: DSign, DStyle and DSport. A whole catalogue of preferences is offered – allowing customers to put their own stamp on everything from the roof to the gearknob. There is a full range of engine sizes available – right up to a 150bhp THP turbocharged model.

The Final Word…

Anyone looking for car lease deals on a supermini ought to place the DS3 close to the top of their wish list.

What do you think of the Citroen DS3? We love to read your comments.
