MINI chose the 2015 Geneva Motor Show to showcase their latest models, emphasising style and fun. The selection of models that were unveiled – the tough cookie MINI Countryman Park Lane, and the fun MINI John Cooper Works – highlighted the true MINI experience, from striking design, to lively handling and high quality.
The new MINI Countryman Park Lane in particular revelled at making its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, where it showed its appetite for being the ideal all-round five-seater. Coming with four doors and an optional 4WD system, it comes with the kind of agility that sees it able to take on any type of terrain, from on-road to off-road, to mud and smooth-as-heck asphalt. The new MINI John Cooper Works, meanwhile, seeks to make driving around the city a breeze thanks to a fun and lively performance, as well as a powerful engine – the brand’s most powerful yet in its serial production variants.
The New MINI Countryman Park Lane
We all knew it wouldn’t be long before MINI entered the premium compact segment, and we all got the feeling they’d master it. Just a feeling, you know? With the new MINI Countryman Park Lane, the brand have conceived a car which weds together the brand’s unique design with healthy copings of interior space and versatility. Unusually for a MINI, the drivers seat is raised higher, which, along with the introduction of the 4WD system, gives a whole new meaning to MINI’s renowned agile drive response. And it’s awesome.
The colour concept found here is totally exclusive to the new MINI Countryman Park Lane. An Earl Grey metallic body finish is complimented by an Oak Red roof that also finds its way into the exterior mirror caps. Oak Red sport stripes are also available as an extra should buyers fancy them. Meanwhile, 18” alloys help to define this car’s athletic stance, whilst optional features that are available to further enhance the new MINI Countryman’s assertiveness include LED fog lamps, sports seats, and a sports steering wheel.
The New MINI John Cooper Works
Whenever you spot the famous John Cooper Works logo on a MINI, you know exactly what you’re going to get. For MINI enthusiasts, their hearts tend to skip a beat, because it basically means that they’re going to get the chance to have a ball as they make their way through traffic on their daily commute. Indeed, no car epitomises a fun driving experience more than the new MINI John Cooper Works, a car which comes with a brand spanking new 2.0-litre four pot engine that is capable of fostering 170 kW/231 bhp.
The finest MINI have to offer in motor racing brains were behind the development of this car, which means that the engine can be manipulated so that it maximises fun behind the wheel. Performance level is high, whilst the body and cockpit have been developed to keep up. Sports suspension comes as standard, as do four exclusive light alloys and a patented aerodynamics kit. For speed aficionados, the new MINI John Cooper Works can get to 60mph from rest in just 6.3 seconds, with each engine wedded to a 6-speed manual as standard. A 6-speed Steptronic gearbox is available as standard.
