The Volvo V60 has been awarded a 5 star crash test rating by Euro NCAP and a 100% for safety assist.
Safety is paramount as far as Volvo are concerned. Apart from standard safety items including Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Side Impact Protection System, ABS and Driver and Passenger Airbags, all Volvo V60’s get City Safety as standard which can reduce or avoid a rear end impact by upto 19mph by automatically applying the brake to bring the vehicle to a complete standstill if it feels the driver has not reacted in time.
The car also has another safety system which uses a radar and camera mounted in the front of the car to check for pedestrians walking in front of the car (when moving) and automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision (if the driver has not responded in time.)
The full Euro NCAP crash test results for the Volvo V60 are:
Overall Score: | 5-star |
Adult Occupant Protection: | 94% |
Child Occupant Protection: | 82% |
Pedestrian Protection: | 64% |
Safety Assist rating: | 100% |
Launched in 2010, the Volvo V60 offers the highest levels of driving dynamics, class-leading safety, low emissions of just 119g/km and excellent fuel economy of upto 65.7mpg.
