It may have all started with the PT Cruiser – the retro craze that caused nearly every manufacturer to produce a least one vehicle with vintage styling and modern innards. One of the more recent additions to the glut of nostalgia inducing rides is the Fiat 500. The little Fiat shares the same underpinnings as the 2014 Ford Ka, but if you want to buck the retro trend, the 2014 Ford Ka is the way to go with styling as modern as the latest iPad.

The contemporary flare doesn’t apply solely to the sheet metal either. There’s an updated 1.2-litre 69PS Duratec petrol engine under the bonnet, as well as the option of a 75PS 1.3-litre Duratorq TDCi turbodiesel. Both units now meet Euro V emission levels and feature Auto-Start-Stop technology.
