Volkswagen Group have had to deal with a lot of losses recently, but the German automotive giant is now turning the tables as they say actress Mischa Barton owes them money.
Mischa Barton has been no stranger to personal troubles recently, and in some ways her personal life mirrors the corporate life of VW.
Last year, The O.C star filed a lawsuit sued her own mother for kicking her out of her home, claiming that her mom is a “greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager.”
The tables have been turned, though, as the mighty VW Group say that Barton leased a car from them and ceased making payments.
They’re claiming damages of over $25,000, but the exact amount is unclear. VW want both the cash and the car back – and quickly.
Missed Audi Payments
Mischa has previous form when it comes to missing payments; the 30-year-old actress bought an Audi in March 2015, but struggled to meet the $700 monthly payments.
Indeed, she didn’t pay anything for six months.
In 2014, Barton appeared to be over her money woes after the producers of an unnamed movie sued her for $230,000 after starting a film project with them, only to bail out without warning or explanation.
Perhaps it’s about time Ms Barton came to OSV for some tip-top advice that it’s always better to lease something you can afford, and if you can’t afford anything? Get a bike!
As it is, Barton will be spending the next few weeks getting to grips with LA’s notorious transport system. Good luck with that …
