BMW will be offering a preview of their new 3 Series Premium Sports Saloon at Detroit this week.
The new BMW 3 Series is the sixth generation of the globally best-selling luxury car.
Dynamic and elegant design
The new BMW 3 Series design draws on the pioneering heritage of the range to offer a refreshed model that is still recognisably part of the BMW 3 Series.
Featuring the new BMW face, with the distinctive kidney grille, the new Series 3 offers a sportier silhouette thanks to its increased length and wheelbase.
As an extra bonus, this also translates into extra leg-room for rear passengers.
Inside, there is the classic BMW driver-oriented cockpit, combined with impressive ergonomics and craftsmanship that exudes understated luxury.
Choose from 3 equipment lines
BMW are offering a trio of complementary equipment lines with the new Series 3: Sport, Luxury and Modern.
Each of these allow drivers to tailor the trim and specification levels to their needs, and each line offers its own individual take on the model.
The sportiest BMW saloon
Suspension in the new 3 Series has been retuned by BMW engineers to offer an even sportier drive, while they’ve also created an impressively rigid car body.
This all adds up to improved, more responsive handling, which is further enhanced by a lengthwise mounted engine, rear wheel drive and a perfect 50:50 weight balance.
The new 3 Series comes with a choice of two BMW engines, a 328i 2.0 litre and a 335i 3.0 litre.
The 328i is one of BMW’s new generation light, powerful petrol engines, whose turbocharged capacity goes from 0 to 62mph in just 5.9 seconds, while doing 44.1mpg.
The feisty 335i 3.0 litre outstrips the performance of BMW’s last comparable engine, while delivering lower emissions and fuel consumption.
Energy saving cutting-edge technology
As you’d expect from a new BMW 3 Series, the car is packed with the latest technology, including an impressive array devoted to minimising its energy consumption.
The new range benefits from BMW’s EfficientDynamics system, which aims to give a first-class yet still economical driving experience.
This significantly reduces the new 3 Series’ fuel costs and CO2 emissions compared to previous 3 Series models.
At the touch of a button, ECO PRO mode you can choose four different driving modes: sporty, ultra sporty, comfortable or extremely economic.
Other energy reducing technologies include brake energy regeneration, an optimum shift indicator and in some models, a disengageable air-conditioning compressor.
The ultimate connected driving experience
All the new BMW 3 Series models come with BMW’s Connected Drive, a combined safety and infotainment system.
Boasting a full-colour, new generation Head-Up display, Connected Drive includes lane change and lane departure warning systems, as well as BMW’s active protection safety pack.
This smart technology helps to avoid and reduce the impact of accidents.
And thanks to the Bluetooth office plug-in, it’s possible to keep updated with internet news and weather, and to have incoming texts and emails monitored and read out.
