The New VW Jetta in the past has been known as a 4 door Golf with a boot. It never really hit off in the UK, but was a real success in the US. The new Jetta has a longer wheelbase and a more executive look than its predecessor and is likely to be a big hit over here.
The Jetta comes with a wide range of eco engines just like the golf, with the TDi and TSi versions. We recommend going for the 1.6tdi Bluemotion as it comes with over 60 mpg and Co2 109g/km
As the Jetty doesn’t have a hatch like the Golf, it certainly makes up for it with its massive boot.
The Jetta comes with four trim levels (S, SE, SEL, TDI)
The S model Jetta includes, ESC, ABS and six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, remote keyless entry, outdoor temperature display and daytime running lights. Inside, passengers will enjoy a pollen filter, power locks, two cup holders, A/C, AM/FM radio with CD capability with an auxiliary input.
If you opt for the SE you will get 16-inch wheels, V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces, body-coloured side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a chrome interior package, bezels for air nozzles, HVAC controls, parking brake and steering wheel emblem.
The front centre console includes a storage box and two cup holders, as well as a rear centre armrest also with two cup holders. Cruise control, a lockable and illuminated glove box, front reading lamps, illuminated vanity mirrors and floor mats round out the standard features for this trim level.
The SEL, comes with everything listed in the SE plus Convenience Package, in addition to fog lamps, chrome accents on the radiator grille, chrome trim around the windows, machine-polished 17-inch alloy wheels and rear disc brakes. Also included is keyless access and push-button start, along with driver’s seat lumbar adjustment, and a trip computer.
SEL can also be had with the Sport Package, which brings the price to £22,995, and adds a sport-tuned suspension, sport-bolstered seats, aluminium pedals and restyled doorsills.
