Top 10 cheapest ways to get fast cars

Want to get your hands on fast cars?

Lamborghini Aventador RoadsterLet’s face it – everyone likes fast cars right? But not everyone can shell out £500,000 for a Lamborghini. Here’s a selection of 250bhp+ vehicles that will allow you to live out your speed demon fantasies without absolutely devastating your life savings. Unless you can actually afford a Lamborghini… in which case, hey just go for it!

1) SEAT Leon Cupra 265
Power and pace is the name of the game with this one. A 276bhp version is available at £27,210 but they also have the cheaper £25,690, 261bhp model which will save you a few bob while still performing in the fast lane.

2) Renaultsport Megane 265
At £26,930 you could do worse than to get yourself the 261bhp rear wheel drive Megane. This car is one of the hottest hatches that handles like a dream.

3) Nissan 370Z
Although it’s getting on a bit, of course Nissan’s Z series had to make it onto the list with its sexy looks and its 326bhp at £27,015 – a mere £85 more than the Megane.

4) Vauxhall Astra VXR
With plenty of torque to play around with, this steroid fiend of an Astra will get you a saucy 276bhp at £27,270.

5) Subaru WRX STI
A classic way of getting loads of power at a fairly cheap price. Everyone will recall the Subaru’s Rally glory days and the massive rear spoiler which is enough of a sell combined with its 296bhp and the price tag of £28,995.

6) VW Golf R
A fantastic all round hatchback with a great power/premium feel balance combined with a great four wheel drive layout. With its bhp at 296 it really feels worth the £29,900 price tag.

7) Audi S3
Audi S series cars are famed for their fast acceleration and their more luxurious approach to being a speed demon. However it is certainly quick with 269bhp at £30,645.

8) BMW M135i
At £30,845 for 316bhp, this performance BMW is one of the prides of the M class with impressive dynamics and a 3.0 litre turbo charged engine to boot. A very fast car.

9) Volvo V40 T5
A keen all round performer with excellent economy, classy comfort driven interior and a sharp look. The V40 T5 brings a healthy 254bhp to the table at a not so expensive £31,900.

And finally…

10) Peugeot RCZ R
The RCZ R race inspired Peugeot is not only stupidly powerful for a car, but it has an incredible oversteer to pull those corners like nobody’s business. At £31,995 you’re getting 266bhp to play around with.
