    The history of BMW

First established in 1917, BMW initially developed and manufactured engines for aircraft. The manufacturer has a long and interesting history, moving from aircraft engines to motorcycles and the stylish cars they make today.

They’ve come a long way since their early days and are dedicated to designing cars with the driver in mind. This means that they have produced some incredible award-winners over the years.

The UK is one of BMW’s biggest markets, selling over 250,000 cars in 2017.

In the early 2000s Christopher Bangle, BMW’s design chief, brought about significant changes to the model styling, including sloping concave surfaces and sophisticated ridges. After the introduction of these changes sales for BMW cars increased.
