History of Subaru
Subaru was established in 1953 with the release of their first car, the Subaru 1500, though due to supply issues only 20 were ever made. They built their first air-cooled engine in 1958, which was released in their 360. Seven years later they released their first car made with a boxer engine, something they are now best known for.
The existing franchise for Subaru in the UK was set up in Coleshill in 1974. However, all cars sold here are manufactured at Subaru’s main plant in Japan.
