Are Ford cars reliable?

Ford is one of the best-selling car brands in the UK and their cars are felt to be rather resilient to faults. In the 2018 reliability survey conducted by Which?, they placed 13th out of 36 manufacturers as well as being awarded 4 stars out of 5.

The history of Ford

Ford has come a long way since the release of their first car in 1896. Their first commercially available car was the Model T, a simple and affordable car that, globally, sold 15 million between 1908 and 1927.

Ford has had factories in the UK since 1909 when their first location opened in Brentwood, Essex. In 1960 the company adopted the name Ford of Britain. In 1967 Ford of Europe was created following the merger of Ford Motor Company Ltd and Ford-Werke GmbH.

For over 100 years Ford manufactured cars and vans in the UK. In 2013 the last transit van rolled off the production line at their Dagenham factory. This was not the end of Ford in the UK, today their factories produce engines and transmissions that are shipped across Europe.

Ford makes everything from the classic Mondeo (saloon, estate and hatchback), SUVs like the Kuga and sporty coupes like the Mustang. At OSV we have a huge range of Fords available.
